As schoolboy I was a promising middle distance runner with top ten finishes on both the track and cross country at national level. However at 16 I had to give up serious running due to chronic shin problems. At age 47 I broke my back in an accident. My rehabilitation started with swimming, then cycling. Competing in a triathlon I found I was better at running, joined the local running club and discovered Masters athletics.
May 2018 I had a Heart Attack. After having two stents fitted I slowly started the long road back to recovery. Fortunately no critical damage was done and I was cleared for competitive sport.
