Started running in May 1997, when I was 46 & my youngest son (Joe) had just started school.
First Half-marathon: Indian Queens, 2-Aug-98; 2:06
2nd HM: Burnham Beeches, 16-Aug-98; 1:59
10M PB: BUPA Great South Run 13-Sep-98, 86:24 (no chip timing)
HM PB: Truro 26-Sep-98, 1:55
Boxhill Ballbuster Duathlon, 31-Oct-98, 4:35 - the year RD John Lunt reimbursed all females their entry fee, hoping to encourage more women to enter.

First Marathon: Duchy, Cornwall, 2-May-99 5:05;
First Ultra-marathon 5 weeks later: Dartmoor Discovery 34.1 miles, 5-Jun-99, 6:29
10 year streak of Duchy Marathons; 7 Dartmoor Discovery races; one other Ultra: Two Bridges (Scotland) twinned with the DD, Aug-2003;
2003 most marathons in one year: Tresco, Neolithic, Dartmoor Vale, Dartmoor Discovery, Isle of Man, Two Bridges, Duchy, Kingston.
One triathlon: Hayle Aug-2004, Olympic distance but with a shorter swim. 3:15.

From April 2008 the discomfort in my hip stopped me running;
I had a total (right) hip replacement *16-Oct-2012* & did not expect to run again.
Nearly 3 years after the operation I joined family at Penrose Parkrun on *4 July 2015* as I knew it would be okay to walk; so I began to run again, very slowly
Re-joined Mounts Bay Harriers in January 2016 as First claim club.

So far:
39 Marathons & Ultras (5 since hip-op)
57 Half Marathons (13 since hip-op)
Half Marathons include Truro x13 (1998-2007, 2016-18); Indian Queens x11; Plymouth x7, Launceston x7 ... Great North Run, Oct-99, Official finish time: 1:58, the year BEFORE chip timing
LOTS of other races - most of those old results are not able to be added to Power of 10.

#loveparkrun - that simple idea which has grown into something amazing - the inclusivity, encouragement & friendliness of millions of ordinary people - & so many inspiring stories.
